Join the LA Dragons – Australian Football in Los Angeles

We're the LA Dragons.

We're a competitive Australian Football club based in Los Angeles — and we're always looking for new players.

No experience required. No fitness test to pass. Just a willingness to learn something new, push yourself, and be part of something genuinely fun.

What You're Signing Up For

~25 games per year across a 9-month season. Most are on Saturdays, usually 1–2 weekends a month — real competition without taking over your life.

We field two teams in the USAFL national league (40+ teams across the US):

  • Division 2 — for players who want to compete hard
  • Division 4 — for players building their game (still competitive, more relaxed)

You'll Travel

We make trips throughout the 2026 season — San Diego, Santa Barbara, Orange County, Portland, and Florida. The club covers or discounts travel costs depending on the trip. It's one of the best parts.

The Time Commitment

  • 1 mandatory training per week
  • 1 optional training (most people come to both)
  • Games on Saturdays

That's roughly 3 hours a week minimum. We know life gets busy — we work with you.

It Costs Less Than You Think

~$375 for the full year, payable monthly. Compare that to any other organized sport in LA — it's not close.

Common Questions

Never played Aussie Rules before? Perfect. Most of our players hadn't either. We teach everything at training.

What if I've played a lot of Aussie Rules before? Great. Come be a leader and help bring our team to a championship. We have about 50% Australians and 50% Americans on the team.

What gear do I need? Just cleats and a mouthguard. We sort out the rest.

Do I have to travel? Not every trip is mandatory. We work around your schedule and help cover costs.

Can I join just to support or be social? 100%. Friends, family, and supporters are welcome at games and our ~10 social events per year.
